Put a Ring on It

Randomness for today: Although I'm not all that extroverted, I really, really love to dance, and I love music that makes you move.  Most of the time G. is the only witness to my jam sessions, but on occasions when I do go out dancing I can have more fun stone sober than most people do at their most, well, juiced up.  Anyway, the main point of this post: Can I just say that it is a nice change to see a celebrity showing off and enjoying her shape?  Yes, I know, her curves are definitely those of a woman with a personal fitness team and a crew of people paid to make her look good, but I still think it sets a better example than a lot of the images we get of frail,  waifish models and actresses.  Plus, it's just a fun video. ;)  Click the link for a higher quality version, the only one that I could embed in the post has poor resolution.

ok, i freakin' love beyonce. i don't like all of her songs, but she is fantastic. she's a kick ass performer (anyone see her do this on the today show last week? phenomenal.) and is so damn confident.

and yes, i absolutely love how she embraces her body. and she should.. it's fantastic. personal trainer or not, she's healthy and she's confident about it. that's a rock star right there.

NPR talked about this Beyonce video and how it was all the rage. If I remember right, she came up with the steps after watching a Bob Fosse number called "Mexican Breakfast." Just a random tidbit.

I think Beyonce is great and serves to remind us that all bodies are beautiful and can give off those infectious moves!

Oh yeah, and did you see the spoof with Timberlake on SNL and the video. I thought that was a pretty humorous take.

Emmy: I missed the Today show interview, but I have seen other ones with her and am always impressed by how composed and well-spoken she is, much more than "just a pretty face," I think.

Tiptoe: I looked up the Fosse song, I'd never heard of it before, but someone did a composite on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRm4evmgz4I. And yes, the Timberlake spoof was great! =D
